In April 2024, representatives of the European Secretariat of German Cultural NGOs took part in On the Move’s Cultural Mobility Forum and the 2024 General Assembly. Both took place in Caernarfon (Wales) and online, organised by On the Move and Wales Arts International.
The Cultural Mobility Forum 2024 was entitled ‘Cultural mobility beyond internationalisation’. The panel discussions examined issues relating to the professional development of artists and creatives from different perspectives and against the background of different cultural experiences, resources and conditions. For example, participants from Tunisia, Georgia, Singapore, Poland, the UK, etc. had their say and reflected on the importance of the centre and the periphery, the significance of international cooperation, the future of cooperation, etc. In addition to the inputs, there was plenty of room for exchange and networking, both with each other and with cultural players in Caernarfon and from all over Wales.
OTM’s 2024 General Assembly was held in conjunction with the Forum. The working groups ‘Mobility Information Points’ and ‘(En)forced Mobility’ also met for working meetings.
